About The Webinar

Arthritis is best described as inflammatory disease process within the synovial joint. Many diverse processes can cause inflammation within the joint and have been loosely defined into various categories based on initiating causes. Osteoarthritis as we commonly perceive it is a mildly inflammatory process best described as an aberrant repair and eventual degradation of the articular cartilage with changes in the synovium and subchrondral bone.
The traditional therapies used to treat Osteoarthritis have centred on weight loss and control, food supplements (Nutraceuticals, Essential Fatty Acids, Coumarins etc.), exercise modification (including physiotherapy and hydrotherapy), the use of Non-Steroidal Anti-Infammatory DrugS (NSAIDS) and analgesic drugs.
Whilst these therapies still form the foundation of our control of Osteoarthritis we will look at some of the newer therapies and see if and how we can incorporate these into our daily practice.
