About The Webinar

This webinar for the Emergency club is intended to suggest some tricks for the successful management of dogs and cats with urethral obstruction.
The first and most important step for urethral obstructed patients is rapid recognition and aggressive stabilization. Knowing the pathophysiological consequences of urinary flow obstruction helps to prioritize interventions and stabilizations approaches.
Not all urethral obstructions are secondary to urethrolitiasis. Mechanical obstruction can be secondary to neoplastic disease, traumatic disruption of the urethral continuity, stenosis. There are also functional obstructions such as those of neurological origin or secondary to idiopathic cystitis in cats. There are also different surgical approaches available to address surgical urethral conditions.
Join me in this webinar and hopefully you will find useful tips for the everyday management of tricky patients even only to stabilize them in view of referral.
