About The Webinar

The 'acute abdomen' is a common, life-threatening condition to be dealt with by the small animal clinician. It is not a single disease entity but rather an all encompassing clinical syndrome that indicates the presence of serious intra-abdominal pathology. There is a long list of differential diagnoses and a wide range of treatment requirements. This webinar will focus on the key aspects for managing these cases including; recognition of the acute abdomen, initial stabilisation and appropriate investigation to reach a timely diagnosis. One of the most important questions to answer for these patients is whether the disease is medical or surgical in nature and the webinar will cover the critical aspect of the decision-making process.
