About The Webinar

There are multitude of sports and competitions dogs can participate in. However it is important to chose not only the activity that best fits with the physical and psychological characteristics of that specific dog, but also when to start training in order to avoid musculoskeletal injuries. In this webinar we will cover the sports dogs can be involved in, how to choose one, as well as when to start training for these activities. We will focus on the health checks recommended before an animal starts training or a sport. General physical and orthopaedic evaluations will be performed during these health checks, but some breeds /sports will also require a more thorough evaluation of some specific body parts/systems. We will cover which conditions these athletes need to be checked for, as well as what to do depending on the findings. In this webinar we will also include the types of gaits and how to evaluate gait in dogs, including subjective and objective methods.
