About The Webinar

Skin disease in rodents is a common reason for presentation, as it is easily noticed by the owner, even in species that are not regularly handled. Although there are many similarities to dermatological disease in dogs and cats, it is important to be aware that important species-specific differences also occur. Particular problems encountered with the diagnosis and treatment of skin disease in small mammals include the necessity of sedation or general anaesthesia for obtaining diagnostic samples, inability to use topical medication because of fastidious grooming habits, lack of availability of licensed drug preparations, and adverse effects of certain drugs, particularly antibiotics. This webinar will cover the common skin diseases seen in pet rodents so you are well-equipped to make a diagnosis and treat them effectively.
