About The Webinar

Reptiles are amazingly well-adapted to dealing with low oxygen levels, having both a great capacity for anaerobic metabolism and a low metabolic rate. This does however mean that signs of respiratory problems such as dyspnoea are often only seen late in the course of disease which can make these cases a challenge to manage.

This webinar will cover the approach to both upper and lower respiratory tract problems in snakes, lizards and chelonians. This will include discussion of the different aetiologies of “Runny nose syndrome” in tortoises and the different presentations and complications of pneumonia in different reptiles. Plans for diagnosis and treatment will be discussed for each condition.
