About The Webinar
Hindlimb orthopaedic conditions are common in small animals and may affect muscles, tendons, bones and joints. Pathologies affecting these structures may be treated surgically or non-surgically, and rehabilitation is an essential aspect of the management of these patients in order to return limb function to preinjury levels. Physiotherapy modalities have an important role in stimulating tissue healing, increasing joint range of motion and muscle function, and decreasing pain in these patients. In this webinar we will cover the most common orthopaedic conditions affecting the hip and stifle joints (i.e. canine hip dysplasia, cranial cruciate ligament disease or medial patella luxation), as well as tendinopathies affecting the hindlimbs, such as iliopsoas strain or gracilis contracture, and the use of physiotherapy techniques and rehabilitation to improve limb function, decrease the risk of postoperative complications and reinjury in animals with these hindlimb orthopaedic conditions.
