About The Webinar

Critically ill veterinary patients present unique challenges in their management and nursing requirements. They are typically highly dynamic, and are frequently subject to rapid changes in their clinical condition that require immediate recognition and care. These patients therefore require continual assessment as to their requirements and priorities at any given time, and a nursing plan to be formulated and delivered to address them.

This webinar will cover several important aspects of their nursing care, based around the important concept of ‘Kirby’s Rule of 20’, a checklist of 20 critical parameters that should be evaluated at least daily in critical patients. We will also discuss the implications of recumbency on nursing management, hygiene considerations and management of indwelling devices.
