About The Webinar

Haematology is commonly used as a non-invasive diagnostic tool for assessing the health status of wild and captive chelonians. However, haematology in turtles and tortoises is still not as developed as mammalian or avian haematology, and great variability and subjectivity is expected when obtaining and analyzing blood results. This webinar will review most aspects of chelonian haematology, including venipuncture sites, sample handling, sources of variability, cell identification and changes with disease. The aim is to provide appropriate tools for the reader to decide what kind of information can and cannot be obtained from chelonian haematology.
