This lecture provides an overview of the main anaesthetic considerations for abdominal surgery, from simple routine ovariohysterectomy to more advance and complex cases like septic peritonitis. The more specific factors affecting each type of procedure are discussed individually. Finally, special emphasis is made on analgesia plans and loco-regional anaesthesia options for these surgeries.
