About The Webinar

Cranial cruciate ligament disease is the most common cause of hind limb lameness in the dog. Despite years of clinical and bench-top research, a surgical solution that achieves normal stifle kinematics remains elusive, and patients are routinely afflicted with progressive osteoarthritis.

Surgical treatments can be divided into extra-capsular techniques that are intended to provide static stabilization and osteotomy techniques that provide dynamic stabilization. Extra-capsular techniques have been refined recently with the introduction of stronger, low stretch suture materials and bone anchors. The osteotomy techniques have been similarly been refined with more precise pre-operative planning and new implants.

In this webinar, the benefits and limitations of these recent advances will be examined. In addition, technique specific case selection will be discussed. Finally, the diagnosis of meniscal lesion and meniscal treatment will be reviewed.
