About The Webinar

The surgical principles of arthrodesis have traditionally been taught as meticulous removal of articular cartilage, placement of autogenous cancellous bone graft, rigid internal fixation, and post-operative external coaptation. In this webinar, Ben Walton reviews the current evidence that supports or refutes this dogma and will look into alternatives to bone graft, the currently available implant systems and their relative merits, and the pros and cons of external coaptation. He also reviews case selection, including common indications for arthrodesis, and the expected outcomes following selected procedures. He will help you to gain a better depth of understanding of case selection and prognosis, and review the latest evidence on which to modify (or preserve) your current practices.
