About The Webinar
Anaesthesia of rodents has often been viewed as a high-risk procedure and avoided if possible. However, as our understanding of anaesthetic agents and their application to exotic pet mammals has increased, many techniques have been modified to reduce these risks.
This webinar will cover relevant differences in anatomy and physiology, pre-anaesthetic considerations, induction and maintenance of anaesthesia and monitoring techniques. Dealing with complications both during anaesthesia and during recovery will also be discussed.
Providing appropriate analgesia should also be considered for any potentially painful procedure. Detecting signs of pain however may be challenging in these small prey species. Signs to look out for and practical considerations for the use of analgesics will be discussed with case examples.
