About The Webinar

Feline tarsal injuries are commonly encountered following trauma. The tarsal joint is particularly prone to shearing injuries due to the paucity of soft tissue structure located in that region. The complex anatomy of the tarsal joint can often make diagnosis of these cases challenging. The webinar will review the anatomy of the feline tarsus joint and review the common tarsal injuries that are encountered and the management strategies that can be employed. Initial first aid management and assessment of these injuries followed by definitive treatment and management strategies will be discussed. The location and direction of instability that is identified will dictate the treatment options that are appropriate for the injury. The clinician relies on both their clinical examination and diagnostic imaging to formulate a strategy for management of these cases.
