About The Webinar
Without the correct and appropriate sampling and analysis, animals will be mis-diagnosed with a disease or diseases can be missed. This lecture will highlight some of the common pitfalls with blood smear examination, illustrating these with pictures of case examples and then identifying how to avoid them.
It will look at how to consistently make and stain a good diagnostic blood smear to allow you to start to look at the cells in more detail. Examining a blood smear checks vital clinical information your analyser measures, as well as adding to its measurements to maximize the amount of information from only a single drop of blood.
The cases and material throughout will use numerous images and some video to graphically illustrate the points and ideas, with take home points and an introduction to common important cell features.
