About The Webinar
Brain tumors are a leading cause of CNS disease in older dogs and cats. The type of tumour affecting the brain can determine the prognosis with some tumors being devastating regardless of the treatment attempted. The clinical signs of brain tumors however, may be similar regardless of the type of tumour as they are determined more by the site of the brain effected by the disease. Confirmation of the diagnosis will depend on what type of imaging is available and also on whether biopsy of the lesion is possible.
This session will attempt to address the most common types of tumour seen to affect the brain of dogs and cats, what clinical signs are most often seen, what diagnostic criteria exist and what treatment options can be considered. The complications of treatment regimens will also be discussed as will their prognosis so that the attendees will feel more comfortable advising their clients on what the best option may be for the individual case.
