About The Webinar

Penetrating wounds disrupt the body surface and extend into underlying tissue or into a body cavity, whether it be from outside-in (for example, bite wounds) or inside-out (for example, stick injuries). Bite wounds are the most common penetrating injuries seen in small animal practice. With appropriate treatment, uncomplicated bite wounds typically carry a good to excellent prognosis. However, when wounds are extensive or if treatment is delayed or suboptimal, the consequences may be life threatening. Using case examples, this webinar will comprehensively examine a treatment protocol for uncomplicated and complicated bite wounds, with a brief review of other common types of penetrating injuries.
