About The Webinar

Large breed dogs may often present with difficulty in getting into the car or up the stairs. The difficulty in assessing these dogs is that they may be living with a combination of orthopaedic and neurological abnormalities. A complete joint and neurological examination is necessary but the presence of postural reaction deficits and back pain are not as helpful as we may think or hope. In this session we will review exactly what lumbosacral disease is and how it can it manifest. We will attempt to clarify the differences between this condition and orthopaedic disease especially with respect to the diagnostic tests. When should we perform advanced imaging in these dogs? This is another question that we will address in addition to treatment options and prognosis for those affected with mild pain through to urinary incontinence.
