About The Webinar
Brain tumour, stroke and encephalitis are common structural brain diseases in dogs and cats and often presented as emergencies. A logical step-wise approach to an animal with signs of intracranial disease often helps forming a strong suspicion taking into account the age, mode of onset but also neurolocalisation (focal/multifocal/diffuse) concluded from the interpretation of the neurological signs. Although advanced imaging is required to establish diagnosis in most cases, a number of ancillary diagnostic tests are indicated to further explore the potential causes of these conditions. These tests can be performed as first line approach if access to advanced imaging is delay or beyond reach of the owner’s financial mean. This presentation will discuss the treatment principles and options as well as prognosis of these common structural brain diseases.
