About The Webinar

This webinar will focus on the approach to patients with specific types of cardiac disease. Use of pre-anaesthetic assessment and patient stabilisation will be discussed to highlight the importance of a specific diagnosis prior to anaesthesia. A number of different cardiac diseases will be discussed, assessing their pathophysiology and how an appropriate anaesthetic plan may be formulated to minimise further physiological derangements. Consideration will be made towards the disease of unknown origin, concurrent disease and commonly utilised cardiac medications. Finally, we will discuss a general approach to monitoring of anaesthesia, fluid therapy and analgesic techniques that may be used alongside specific disease considerations.
