About The Webinar

Disorders of primary haemostasis, otherwise known as platelet disorders, are a common cause of bleeding in small animal patients. The bleeding seen may be the reason the patient is presented to the veterinary clinic, or may even be an unexpected complication following a surgical procedure. Whilst the severity of the bleeding is variable, it can be severe and in some cases may be life-threatening.

This webinar will explore this important clinical problem in more detail. An approach to the bleeding patient will be covered, with a focus on how to identify a platelet problem early on to narrow down possible diagnostic tests and therapies. Common differential diagnoses for thrombocytopenia and updates on their management based on the most recent evidence will be presented. There will also be consideration of the causes and management of common causes of thrombopathia to provide a comprehensive overview of platelet disorders seen in practice.
