About The Webinar

Urinary continence is the ability to control voluntary micturition requiring the co-ordination of several different functions. There are many possible causes for urinary incontinence. Despite urethral sphincter mechanism incompetence (USMI) due to spaying is the most common cause of urinary incontinence in female dogs, a thorough examination should be performed on every incontinent animal. In this lecture we will discuss the different causes of incontinence, we will look at the physiopathology and possible treatments, medical and surgical or combined. We will discuss the state of the art of the diagnostic work up in these patients and possible long-term treatments.
We will talk about ectopic ureters in female and male dogs, USMI and other condition that might induce urinary incontinence.
