About The Webinar

Transfusion products are increasingly accessible in small animal veterinary medicine and it is essential that this valuable resource is put to the best and safest use. In this webinar we will look at some of the important considerations in transfusion medicine such as:

  • Deciding whether an anaemic patient needs red cell transfusion – is there a ‘trigger’?
  • Understanding which type of coagulopathy is present in a patient with spontaneous bleeding – when might plasma help?
  • What are the differences in blood types between dogs and cats

For interest we will also touch on the concept of haemostatic resuscitation and whether it is practical in veterinary medicine.
