This webinar will discuss the various options currently available to treat cranial cruciate ligament (CCL) rupture is dogs and cats. Extracapsular techniques will be discussed with tips and tricks on how to perform these techniques as effectively as possible as well as instances where these techniques may not be appropriate. Techniques on how to diagnose CCL disease in patients where the joint is palpably stable will be discussed and well as what classical signs to look for on stifle radiographs.
How to perform a mini medial arthrotomy and meniscal inspection will be illustrated with video examples. The concept of cranial tibial thrust will be explained and how this relates to the various osteotomy techniques, which aim to neutralise ‘tibial thrust’. The technique of tibial plateau leveling osteotomy (TPLO) using locking implants will de illustrated and advise given on how to deal with cases with concurrent patellar luxation. The webinar aims to help delegates decide on the most appropriate treatment option for any specific patient with CCL rupture.
