Feline hypertension is a common problem, especially in older cats where it is estimated to affect around 20% of senior cats. Often hypertension is diagnosed in association with another illness. It is estimated that up to 60% of cats with CKD and up to 20% of cats with hyperthyroidism develop systemic hypertension.
