About The Webinar

When presented with an animal with potential neurological dysfunction it is vital to perform a systematic and thorough neurological examination. The goals of the neurological examination are to determine if the patient has a neurological problem and, if so, which part of the central or peripheral nervous system is affected and to what extent. In this webinar, we will cover all aspects of the neurological examination of the small animal patient. We will break it down into "hands-off" or observation, and "hands-on" examination. Using video examples to demonstrate, we will discuss how to perform each part of the examination, how to adapt to different patients and what specifically we are aiming to assess. Allowing time for your examination is vital, as well as opportunities to repeat it to ensure subtle changes are identified. By the end of this webinar, I hope you will feel more confident in both performing and interpreting the neurological examination.
