About The Webinar

Teamwork and communication skills are key non-technical skills which contribute to improved patient outcomes. These skills are especially important in emergency and critical care medicine where we work with critically ill patients in which high performing team dynamics can be paramount in negotiating different medical challenges. In human medicine and other safety critical industries, teamwork and communication are an integral part of standard training, so why not in veterinary?
In this lecture we will discuss the fundamentals of teamwork and communication and why it is so important in our work as a veterinary team, delving into evidence from research in other industries. You will be introduced to different communication tools which can be applied into your daily practice as a team member or team leader, by the end of the lecture having created a communication tool kit for yourself. We will also be discussing the whys and hows of clinical debriefing and resources for you to introduce this important practice into your veterinary teams.
