About The Webinar
This webinar will focus on the stabilisation and assessment of feline patients with urethral obstruction. Particular emphasis will be placed on the correction of fluid deficits and electrolyte derangements which can occur and can be profound. Management of the hyperkalaemic patient will be discussed in detail as this can lead to severe clinical signs and can pose a high risk of sedation/anaesthesia if not resolved prior to the relief of the obstruction. Urinary catheter choice and placement will also be discussed. A review of recent studies aimed at looking at reducing the risk of reoccurrence of urethral obstruction and management of cases on a tight financial budget will also be discussed.
