About The Webinar

This lecture will present the management strategies to receive and correctly manage the dog or the cat presented to you following a traumatic incident leading to spinal injury. We will review a few tricks of the neuro exam and explain neurogenic and spinal shock. Some interactive X-rays will help you understand the three-column system and when to call a spinal lesion ‘unstable’. We will also discuss the prognosis for spinal cases after trauma based on the severity of the neurological signs and when to refer the case. We will finally touch on the importance of physiotherapy but also discuss management techniques for incontinence in these cases.
