About The Webinar

The popularity of Pugs and especially French bulldogs has skyrocketed in recent years. This surge in popularity has been associated with increasing welfare concerns of small brachycephalic dog breeds. Although most discussions focus on respiratory disorders, small brachycephalic dogs are also vulnerable to spinal disease. During this webinar, we will discuss the most common conditions and novel developments in spinal disease in French bulldogs and Pugs. Despite their comparable body conformation, French bulldogs and Pugs are affected by different spinal conditions. French bulldogs present most commonly with acute intervertebral disc extrusion, while Pugs present more often with complex and multifactorial chronic spinal disorders. We will further discuss specific clinical challenges and controversies associated with specific disorders.
