About The Webinar

Luxation of both the shoulder and elbow joints are relatively uncommon when compared with those of the hip. However, they are similar in being associated with high morbidity if not dealt with in an appropriate manner. This presentation will aim to consider both developmental and traumatic luxation of the shoulder and elbow joints. In the case of developmental shoulder luxation the focus will be on whether or not surgical intervention should be considered. For traumatic shoulder luxation the issues around effective stabilization will be considered. With developmental elbow luxation, the need for early recognition and intervention in many cases will be stressed. Finally, the subject of traumatic elbow luxation will consider the benefits of early stabilization in the majority of cases. It is expected that delegates will be given the information they require to identify these patients effectively and to make appropriate decisions with regards to their management.
