About The Webinar

Puppy socialisation classes – or ‘puppy parties’ – provide an ideal opportunity to simultaneously bond the client to the practice and set them on the right path to a well-balanced and polite adult dog. However, ensuring classes are safe, informative and provide a positive experience for both puppy and owner requires planning and a thorough understanding of puppy behaviour.

This webinar will start by looking at class planning, including the pros and cons of various class formats, options for class content, considerations for choosing the right equipment and location and approaches to delivering information in a setting in which people are often distracted. It will then examine the critical importance of carefully managing puppy interactions with staff, other owners and the other puppies and the implications if this goes wrong. Finally it will look at how to identify puppies that require early behavioural intervention and to locate a professional suitably qualified to provide it.
