About The Webinar

This webinar identifies the needs of the animal patient in relation to physiotherapy for orthopaedic conditions.
The webinar outlines what an Animal and Chartered Physiotherapist is regarding qualifications but more importantly it outlines the treatment techniques used by Animal Physiotherapists, namely manual therapy, electrotherapy, hydrotherapy and rehabilitation.
Physiotherapy can be appropriate for many different types of small animal (young, old, working, etc) and covers a range of specialities (neurology, orthopaedics, soft tissue, etc) but fundamentally is used when there is a dysfunction in movement.
This is particularly true for post-operative cranial cruciate repairs and total hip replacements in the canine. Whilst formal protocols are still in development, the webinar gives short, medium and longer term physiotherapy techniques for these conditions. These treatments are evidence based where possible and enable the orthopaedic veterinary nurse the opportunity to access some actual hands-on techniques.
There are a number of videos and pictures to help explain the methods and this should mean that you can not only understand why but also how you can apply some key basic techniques to ensure your patients maximise their post-op recovery.
