About The Webinar

Correct rabbit nutrition is essential to rabbit health. Many commercial diets are based on nutritional guidelines developed in the 1970s, which were formulated for production and laboratory rabbits with a short lifespan, and are unsuitable for pets. Feeding inappropriate diets to pet rabbits is common, largely due to misinformation or tradition, and this can underpin many disease conditions including dental disease and gastrointestinal disease. Important behavioural and welfare issues are also associated with an incorrect diet, particularly with the lack of ability to forage. This webinar will cover in detail the nutritional requirements of pet rabbits and will present the results of recent research on commonly fed pet rabbit diets so that practitioners can give the best advice to their clients on feeding their rabbits correctly.
