About The Webinar

In the immediate post-operative period, physiotherapy treatments aim at managing pain, controlling and guiding inflammation towards normal healing, and promoting early weight bearing. Proprioception training should also start as early as possible, and should continue throughout the rehabilitation program. In this presentation, we will see how physiotherapy techniques such as cryotherapy and Laser therapy can assist in pain and inflammation management. We will present exercises to promote normal range of motion, early weight bearing and controlled walking. We also discuss the importance of proprioception training and how to start this safely with minimal equipment. Finally, you will have some insight into more advanced rehabilitation techniques and why it can be judicious to refer post-op cases to physiotherapy/rehab specialists.
