About The Webinar
Periodontal disease in horses is a very commonly encountered condition, and can be a real challenge to treat. It may present in many different ways, and in some age groups and populations may be present in up to 80% of horses. This webinar will describe the anatomical, physiological and pathological conditions that may lead to the development of periodontal disease, and discuss the various ways of management. Some methods of management and treatment are perfectly possible 'in the field' whereas other treatments may only be suitable by referral due to the more technical nature of the procedures. Techniques varying from simple cleaning of diastemas to widening and dental extraction will be discussed.
Periodontal disease can be a challenging but highly rewarding condition to treat with the right approach and advice to owners on future care and management.
