About The Webinar

Conditions around the anus occupy much of our time as vets, so this webinar will look in more detail at surgery in this area. But surgery here carries many doubts and fears as it’s a contaminated location which has a key function, and understandably we are worried of the risk of infection and faecal incontinence.
In this webinar, Ronan Doyle, Head of Soft Tissue Surgery at Davies Veterinary Specialists will review the anatomy of the area and how this relates to our decision-making in surgery. He will discuss how to stay in control during the surgery to minimise the risks of infection or wound breakdown. He will then look at the surgical diseases of the perianal region and in particular the anal sacs. Ronan will review and demonstrate the correct surgical techniques in clinical cases for successful anal sacculectomy. In addition he will review neoplasia in the area, anal furunculosis and ano-rectal prolapse.
