About The Webinar
Osteosarcoma is the most common primary bone tumour in dogs, accounting for 85% of malignancies originating in the skeleton. Large and giant breeds predominate however small breeds are also seen. Metastasis is very common and arises early in the course of the disease although often subclinical. Diagnosis is based on the clinical finding and diagnostic imaging but is confirmed on histology. Whilst long-term survival is poor (less than 1 year) staging and many treatment regimes have been described which may not provide a cure but dramatically improve the animals comfort and quality of life.
