About The Webinar

Pain is a complex phenomenon, involving many different processes. It is a difficult concept to understand but having a basic insight into what causes pain is important, in order to be able to recognise it in veterinary patients.

Managing pain is an important part of the veterinary nurse’s role and it often falls to nurses to assess pain in their patients. Accurate assessment and reporting of pain will help prevent acute pain from turning into chronic pain, in surgical patients, and can provide early intervention in both surgical and medical patients.

Different pain assessment tools will be examined in this webinar and a brief overview given to the various types of analgesic drugs and other methods of providing analgesia that are available to us.
