About The Webinar

Many veterinary patients require and benefit from oxygen supplementation. These may be trauma patients who are presented as emergency cases, medical or surgical patients who require oxygen as part of the treatment protocol for their particular condition, or patients for routine procedures.
It is necessary to understand respiratory physiology as the respiratory system plays an important role in oxygenation and ventilation, but it must not be forgotten that other body systems are also involved, such as the cardiovascular and central nervous systems. A brief review of physiology will be covered in this webinar.
Methods that are used to supplement oxygen will be explored, giving the advantages and disadvantages of each, looking at both invasive and non-invasive techniques. Practical administration of oxygen, using the various methods, will be explained.
