About The Webinar

Owners often seek information and guidance from the veterinary health care about diets. One survey showed that 90% of pet owners wished for dietary advice from their veterinary surgery, but only 15% perceived that they had received it. This webinar will briefly discuss the major differences between the nutritional requirements of dogs and cats. It will cover feeding for different life stages, including puppies and kittens, adult, and senior pets. Performing a screening nutritional assessment will be presented. The types of ingredients which are in pet foods will covered, as will how to interpret a pet food label and compare products. The differences in quality and the reasons for price differences among foods will be addressed. There will also be a short discussion on the benefits and potential risks of feeding home-made diets and raw food diets.
