About The Webinar

Ferrets can make challenging patients and a sound understanding of their nutritional and supportive care needs is vital to successful veterinary management. They are obligate carnivores and correct nutrition is vital to maintaining health and aiding recovery from illness. Many sick ferrets will become anorexic and their predisposition to certain diseases, such as insulinoma, and high incidence of stress-associated gastric ulceration require careful management. Many geriatric ferrets suffer from various forms of neoplasia (e.g lymphoma) and extra meals, supplements and hand-feeding by a dedicated owner may be necessary to help maintain quality of life for as long as possible. This webinar will cover the essentials of ferret nutritional and clinical supportive care to help you provide optimum care for ferret patients.
