About The Webinar

Generalised weakness can present an interesting diagnostic challenge, with several possible systems that may be involved and a variety of differential diagnoses to consider. In this webinar we use clinical case studies to focus on weakness caused by disorders that affect the neuromuscular system. Although these patients often present with a relatively non-specific complaint and history, we will use clinical reasoning and problem-based approach helps us to formulate a sound diagnostic and treatment plan for three real-life cases. Using clinical videos, we will cover the neurological examination and discuss particular features that may allow us to neurolocalise patients to a disease affecting the neuromuscular system. We will use examples whereby the diagnostic approach allows us to reach a diagnosis, and to consider examples of specific differentials for neuromuscular disease.
