About The Webinar

This webinar will review sodium, chloride, potassium and magnesium. Derangements of these electrolytes are frequently encountered in hospitalized patients. Small changes in some electrolyte concentrations can have life or death consequences and require prompt intervention. And often the astute clinician can glean clues about their patient’s underlying disease from the presence of electrolyte derangements. So when is intervention necessary and how do we go about correcting these abnormalities effectively? A practical approach to correcting electrolyte derangements will be presented during this webinar, including a review of the basic physiology behind regulation of each electrolyte and common causes of the various electrolyte disturbances.
