About The Webinar

Humeral intracondylar fissures (HIF) previously known as incomplete ossification of the humeral condyle (IOHC) are most commonly seen in Spaniel breeds. The aetiopathogenesis postulated includes failure of endochondral ossification or a stress fracture. Failure to identify and treat appropriately can lead to fracture of the humeral condyle. This webinar will discuss the key physical examination and imaging findings that can be used to aid with diagnosis of this condition. Management options available will be discussed as including the more common complications that can be encountered. Specific tips and tricks for surgical management will be discussed. Failure to identify these lesions early on can lead to progression to a condylar fracture either unicpondylar or bicondylar. The final part of the webinar will discuss surgical approaches to management of condylar fractures and stabilization techniques.
