About The Webinar
Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) is one of the commonest chronic illnesses seen in practice, with up to 50% of cats showing some evidence of renal problems in some studies. While it is true that the disease cannot be cured, it must be differentiated from acute kidney injury, which is potentially curable. There is also a temptation to believe that the lack of a cure means that “there is nothing we can do” – a statement which is simply not true.
In this webinar we will cover the diagnostic considerations when kidney disease is suspected; how to confirm a renal problem, differentiate acute from chronic kidney disease and then stage and substage the disease. We will then go on to discuss the many different treatment options that are available for chronic kidney disease, their evidence and recommendations for the institution of their use.
