About The Webinar

Blood gas measurement can be useful in identifying critical abnormalities in your patients. This lecture will cover the basic fundamentals of blood gas analysis, including how performing these tests can be lifesaving. A step-by- step approach to venous blood gas analysis will be covered, including how to use it as a diagnostic and monitoring tool, in addition to how to manage critical acid-base abnormalities. Arterial blood gas analysis will also be covered, including tips on sampling from an artery; the importance of arterial blood gas analysis over pulse oximetry; and how to differentiate upper respiratory tract disease from lower respiratory tract disease by simple calculations performed from arterial blood gases. By the end of the lecture, you will be equipped with a tool kit to maximise your blood gas machine in practice.
