About The Webinar

Placing and managing tubes, lines and indwelling devices is a daily part of the veterinary nurse's role. Devices such as intravenous catheters, indwelling urinary catheters and enteral feeding tubes are frequently used, especially in medical or critical patients. In this session, we'll examine the placement techniques for vascular access options, including central venous catheters and peripherally inserted catheters, alongside discussing best practice care and management, and how to collect blood samples using these devices. We'll also discuss the placement and management of nasal feeding tubes, oesophagostomy tubes, gastrostomy tubes and jejunostomy tubes, alongside their indications and contraindications. Lastly, we'll examine how to place and maintain indwelling urinary catheters in both male and female patients, alongside best practices for their day-to-day management.
