Ketamine is an NMDA receptor antagonist that has been in clinical use for many years. However this agent is receiving increase attention in more recent times in both human and veterinary medicine as more comes to be known about its dose-dependent spectrum of action from analgesia to sedation to dissociation, and its safety relative to some other comparable agents. A number of the traditional contraindications for the use of ketamine have come under the evidence-based medicine spotlight and been found to be lacking both in human medicine and especially in veterinary patients. In this webinar we will explore the potential actions, clinical uses and myths around ketamine leaving you under no illusion that ketamine is more than just a horse tranquiliser!
