About The Webinar

Haemoabdomen is a common and potentially life-threatening problem encountered in veterinary practice. Given the diverse range of causes coupled with the variable history and clinical signs at presentation, it can be challenging to treat.

This webinar addresses the common differential diagnoses, initial patient stabilisation and confirmation of the diagnosis, together with the role that various diagnostic imaging modalities play in the investigation and decision-making for these cases. Surgery Specialist Aidan McAlinden shares his tips and valuable advice to help you identify and control haemorrhage in the abdomen. There is a particular emphasis on the liver and spleen given the high frequency for these organs to the source of haemorrhage. Intra-operative decision-making, further staging and prognosis when haemorrhage is secondaryto neoplasia are also discussed.
